Autumn leaves

Every year during the Autumn time, Mount Macedon comes alive with the amazing colours of leaves.

Our green mountain turns to shades of yellow, orange, and red... It is truly magnificent.

Honour Avenue, Macedon is among some of the most beautiful roads in the world around Autumn time. Please take care during this time, as there is higher than usual traffic levels. The Shire Council also have strict parking restirictions in the area during this time.

Many large historic estates open during this time of year to allow members of the public to walk through. Keep an eye out for open signs along your journey, as it is a real treat to visit some of these magnificent gardens.

Please note: The Macedon Ranges Shire Council have no authority to issue parking tickets inside Macedon Regional Park. Outside the park, it is recommended that you always check where you are parking to avoid any fines.

How to get to Autumn leaves

Head to the summit of Mount Macedon via Mount Macedon Road. This pathway will take you past some historic gardens, and houses (some of which may be open to the public.)
