Friends group working bee (March 10, 2021)

Another successful working bee from the friends group!

There were 475 volunteers today, 3 humans and 472 leeches. The only problem was that the leeches tried to eat the humans instead of the blackberries!

A cool misty morning developed into a beautiful sunny day. Our mission (that we agreed to accept) was to audit and clean-up the MRWT between the Mt Macedon Rd and Days Picnic Ground. It soon became apparent that the blackberries were trying to take over the world, so we put them back in their place for a bit. Parks Victoria will now hit them with a bit of spray to keep them at bay.

Credit goes to Janeen, Kerena and Ken for a sterling effort.

Ken did take an excellent photo of the 3 humans however it seems that he left his camera on the picnic table at Days Picnic Ground. If you find this camera, pleae hand it in to the Tea Rooms or a Parks Victoria staff member so we can get it back to its owner!
